There is a small center cap that just sits in the middle. That center cap is slightly smaller than the hole so it comes out easy (fixed by glueing in from the back side.)The brass cup is fantastic for stopping drain noise. My old drain sounded like an old man gargling. Now it is a whisper. I did cut an extra slot in the brass cup to help drain faster. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well Made But Over-designed *by V***C on Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2019* An excellently made, sturdy and attractive shower drain. However, the design did not allow rapid drainage. I had to remove the insert hair screen to allow better flow. After doing that the only problem I encountered was the center "plug" which tends to move out of its anchor point. Will try using silicone to affix it more permanently.
