It comes up to temperature steadily and distributes heat evenly for optimum results. This griddle plate is suitable for all types of heat source, including gas, electric, ceramic/halogen and induction hobs and can also be used in the oven as well as on open camp fires. Made from pre-seasoned cast iron, the VonShef griddle plate is naturally non-stick. The seasoning process involves baking vegetable oil on to the surface at a high temperature, creating an easy-release surface, without the need for any chemical coating. The heat treatment allows the oil to penetrate into the pores of the iron to give it easy-release properties without the health worries associated with some chemicals. You can easily maintain the surface by rubbing in a little fresh oil after washing in soap and water. Cooking with a griddle pan helps you to create tasty and healthy meals.
