Review: Best commercial falernum I've tried so far. - I make homemade falernum for cocktails, but the process takes a bit of time. Sometimes, you just want something ready to go, especially if you don't have lime zest/almonds/ginger in your pantry at all times. This falernum smelled nice, when opening up the bottle. I tried some by itself and it had a nice spice laden taste to it, similar to a cinnamon syrup, only this tasted of cloves and citrus. I tried the falernum in one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Puka Punch and it worked well, though that cocktail has a bunch of other ingredients. My next cocktail, was probably a better assessment of the syrup - I made a drink with 1.5 oz Jamaican rum, .75 oz fresh lime, and .75 oz falernum. Oh man, this made for a great drink! The only negative, I can think of, is that traditional falernum has a bit of alcohol in it, as a preservative. This doesn't, though you could easily add a splash of vodka to preserve it longer in your fridge. When I'm not making falernum by hand, this will be my go to choice.

I've generally been impressed with the BG Reynolds products. I bought the Falernum and have been very happy with it for a variety of tiki drinks. ONE RECOMMENDATION: Make a couple drinks with it and then add back a shot of Everclear. Doing so will make it store longer.
