It's not as thick as I had hoped. If you're not looking for a blanket to keep you warm on those cold nights, then this blanket should do fine. It's good for lounging on the couch and cozying up to some television or a good book. It makes a fine throw on top of bedding. It makes for a comfortable napping blanket, especially during warm days. I ran it through the wash with some oxygen bleach and detergent and didn't notice much dye coming from the rinse water after the first wash. It also didn't leach dye on other clothes during subsequent washings.It's very soft and quite pleasing to the eye.
