Thickness is just right for some small optical applications. Transmits infrared so probably won't heat up as much as it might otherwise.For those people planning to use the filter for spectroscopic applications, be aware that the number 102 does not match the Kodak 102 and does not match the 102 found in some online conversion charts even though they are both named 'light amber'. I have included a transmission spectrum for reference. Note the large infrared level and the small ultraviolet peak.
