**Q: Do they still use a wound string for low G?**
A: I don’t think this set has a wound G.  I prefer sound G and C and buy sets that include them, or individual strings. **Q: Does this set of strings include a wound string for low G or is it just thicker?**
A: No it is not wound... at least in the sets I received. It is the Red string that is the regular diameter (in other words not thicker) but made of different material. Very stretchy. Hope that helps.....Mike

I played the ukulele as a soloist growing up and the one I bought recently didn't sound right. Put the low string on and right away. Everything was great, all the songs played as usual! Great strings will buy again when they break
