There is no setting it up to prevent it or guide that helps. Thicker than 1/8th inch and it blows molten metal across the shop.. at any pressure.. or it doesnt cut anything.Save your money or buy something much better. I feel like a fool for not returning it after the first time I used it. I haven't been able to use one piece of anything I have tried to cut. I almost bought one of their welders just before buying this.
