After reading it through,I have come to the conclusion that most of the 13 five-star reviews are concocted.The general impression I got, is that the writer held back the valuable details for the course, for which a promotion appears partway through and at the end. The sad thing is, the writer had little of value to say. I certainly would never sign up for this person's course. How he managed to push on for 188 pages is beyond me.I have done a lot of study of SEO, marketing and promoting and this book was over 95% fluff and filler.I read nothing of interest until around page 120, when he recommended turning people who walk through the door into members. I saw merit in that and it is an interesting idea. But quickly after that, it fell into noise and fluff again. Usually when I go through a book, I write down ideas and suggestions that I think are unique, interesting. The member thing is the only thing I took away from 188 pages.In a nutshell, the author talks about his success, how misinformed many salon owners are, his upbringing, a light dusting of things that are suggested in every modern business success webinar and guru course, and glues it together with a lot of fluffy, questionable and obviously false assumptions. Get a Facebook page! Optimize your website! Raise your prices! Little detail or examples how he did it or how he tested ideas in the real world and offers that to the reader.. Just suggestions that almost every current owner is already aware of. As an owner of several businesses myself, some things he claims bring success are blatantly his regurgitation of things he read from others. In fact, I was surprised how he puts a lot of stuff out as if they are somehow enlightened or unique ideas.My recommendation is that I have not yet read other salon success books, but I think you would do better to start with them first, and save this book for those who have no concept of modern business promotional methods, want something a step below 101, and are not particularly interested in actually learning detailed successful methods.In the world of SEO, this book is one gigantic landing page/sales funnel, designed to get the user to upgrade to the paid course. The problem is, I should not have to pay $25 for a 188 page ad.I know there may be a few disgruntled folks who do not like another 1 star review and may comment, but they will be hard pressed to offer powerfully convincing reasons to the contrary. If you do not believe me, buy the book and plan to sell it back used on Amazon. Too much unnecessary talk and a waste of time. From the middle of the book, it becomes interesting and overall I loved the book.The book is old and most links don’t work at all. Looks Mr. Dan closed the salon business or sold it to someone else.The information in this book is great and valuable. Anybody can make a successful salon business with the guides on this book.The doesn’t help you to be a better beauty professional. I learned some really strategic ways of improving my business. I am a booth renter and still a lot of this applied to me. I am thinking about doing something on my own and this gave me a heads up, and things to think about. If I am not currently doing these things when I am in business for myself on a small scale, how do I think I would ever do it on a larger scale. Made me think. Only thing confused about. He opened it for his girlfriend, but no were does it mention that she was not a slave to the salon. I wish there was more from her.
