**Q: Is this pasteurized?**
A: The California almonds used by Elmhurst are pasteurized to comply with FDA regulations and recommendation from food safety experts. This is to remove the risk of Salmonella and to Reduce the risk of bacteria, yeasts, and mold. Because of this the company have chosen to get almonds that are PPO Pasteurized, an approved pasteurization method used by the FDA.  
Almonds are PPO treated before arriving to the company. If that's a concern for you, the raw ingredients they use to make their other varieties such as our Milked Peanuts, Milked Cashews or Milked Oats have not been treated.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ NO FILLERS!  The BEST cashew milk w/ only water & cashews.

It’s almost impossible to find a non-dairy milk in most grocery stores that doesn’t include lecithin, oils, guar gum or others fillers or preservatives. Those additives upset my stomach and cause inflamation. Elmhurt makes the only one I can find in store (and sadly only at Whole Foods) that only has two ingredients - water and nuts. The cashew is my absolute favorite - it’s creamy and has a mild flavor so it’s perfect for adding to savory sauces. I add it to pasta dishes all the time and I don’t even miss the dairy. They also make other nut milks (walnut, almost, pistachio) as well as oat milk. It’s a little more spendy than other non-dairy milks, but you pay more to leave out the junk ingredients and it’s worth it to me. Elmhurst, you’re simply the best!

It’s a bit pricey but if you’re willing to spend the few extra dollars it’s definitely worth the cost. Has good consistency and isn’t grainy, ingredients are simply almonds and water no added gums or preservatives, can be shelved until opened, and has higher protein content compared to other brands I’ve come across.
