I have purchased protein powder before, but this is my first time purchasing a single ingredient (without all of the additional fillers). This is also the first time I've purchased from Bulk Supplements.com. I already own several different types of pea protein powder mixes. But I like the idea of being able to make one on my own, basically customized to my needs/ wants. I also liked the idea of it being 100% product without any allergens. So I wanted to give it a try. Strengths: *This is 100% pea protein. There are no other added ingredients. * The size of the bag is 1 kilogram or 2.21 pounds. * It has 33 servings, of which each serving contains 110 calories and 24 gm of protein. It also contains iron, sodium, and potassium. * It comes in a heavy plastic bag that is lined with foiled and clear plastic for appropriate storage. * It mixes easily into liquids, via spoon, smoothie shaker, or blender. * The taste is very mild. * Incredible value. Weaknesses: * It does not contain a scooper, like most powder proteins * You need to be creative, with what you mix it in. Review: Excellent product and a great value. - Price: This is pretty much as good a deal as you're going to get on protein. ~33 servings in a 1 kg bag for $18, and each serving has 24g of protein. That's 792 grams of protein total, which works out to around $0.02 per gram of protein. This is an outstanding value. Taste: It's pure pea protein, so the taste is pretty bland. A few reviewers have described the taste as being bitter or otherwise unpalatable, but that's not accurate. It's just bland, raw pea protein (which is the point). Remember, most of the pea protein powders you find at your local store are combined with other ingredients such as stevia, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, etc. to make the powder more flavorful and sweet (for double or triple the price, too). If you're used to those products then, if you try this, you may not like the taste since you're expecting the sweetened, chocolaty version of it. In any case, you can always add extra ingredients yourself. There are tons of recipes online; my personal favorite is peanut butter and a banana mixed with some almond milk in a blender. On most days though I just combine it with some almond milk or water in a shake cup and it's perfectly fine. Quality: The powder itself is homogeneous and easy to scoop, and it mixes pretty well with whatever I toss it in. The bag is durable and resealable, and doesn't take up unnecessary space. I haven't experienced any digestion issues, excessive burps/aftertaste, gas, defecation/fecal issues, or anything like that; everything seems to pass through as pea protein should, and there are no negative effects on energy (although one thing to consider is that I always drink protein after workouts/cardio and have a healthy digestive system). The only complaint I have is that the seal on the bag (similar to a Ziploc Pinch & Seal sandwich bag) does not seal well and easily comes apart. This could partly be due to powder blocking the seal, but it seems like the seal itself is undersized. That said a dust-off followed by a good pinch usually keeps it closed well enough for me; others may need to find a suitable container for storage. Other thoughts: -Be aware that there is no scoop in the bag. If you don't have a suitable scoop, there is a conversion chart on the back of the bag which converts tablespoons to grams (6 grams per tablespoon, 30 grams per serving, so 5 tablespoons per serving). -This protein is high in iron, which makes it a great daily supplement for vegans -Shortly after receiving my order I got an e-mail from BulkSupplements.com offering me a free sample of anything in their catalog. A: To the best of my knowledge, and according to Monsanto, there are no GMO peas. Other sites say, yes, peas are/can be GMO. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good source of protein that is easy on the stomach

This does the job well. You must take into account what it is...Unflavored Pea Protein. Protein derived from peas. To that end, I do not think it is fair to mark it low for a bad taste and/or chalky texture. It is ground up, processed peas. It is an effective source of nondairy protein, for which what I was searching. It does not taste great, but it does not taste horrible. I use it in a mixed berry blend with cocoa powder, which mitigates the taste some. This has great protein content and is easy on my stomach, which is getting more finicky the older I get. I can drink it alone with water, if needed. My only complaint is that it does not dilute as well as I would like. There is usually some dry powdery residue at the bottom of the blender, but not too much. I usually scoop it out with a teaspoon. I have also tried the Now Foods Pea Protein and it is about the same.
