Pieces interlock and do not require tools. There were no instructions, only a sheet saying if you need help give them a call so they can walk you through it. Setup for me took maybe 10 min from opening the box.Color is a little darker than expected, which is fine for my room.Depth of recliner when extended is 38". At 5'10" the edge of the recliner is at my ancles when extended.The pull for recliner doesn't require too much strength to release.
