My master cylinder failed after 168K and my clutch would no longer disengage. I called a shop and got a quote for $350 to perform the work for me. I bought the parts on desertcart for ~$78 to the door. The work took me about an hour and required some metric wrenches and sockets. No special tools were required. I had to remove the air filter housing, 2 bolts and a hose clamp, to gain clearance to the slave cylinder from the engine bay. It's nice, it's right on top of the transmission, just under the air filter housing. Removing the air filter housing also made removing the clutch master cylinder easier also. It saved me $273 over going to a shop and was what I would consider an easy job. As stated, if you can change your own oil and filter, this job is not out of your league.
