I bought a shaker to use with it and quickly realized it is NOT that kind of salt, lol. It is a buttery-flavored STRONG salt. You put 1/2 TEAspoon of Flavacol in with 1tablespoon coconut oil (NO MORE than 3/4 TEAspoon of Flavacol & only that much if you like an EXTREME FREAKISH amount of salt), Melt for a few seconds then add 1/3 to 1/2 cup popcorn (if microwave popper hit "popcorn setting" in the microwave & "add 30 seconds"). The chances of a normal person or couple using the whole carton in a lifetime is doubtful to me, lol. **Q: What is the "artificial flavor" that is listed in the ingredients? Having a generic label like that makes me nervous about what I am ingesting...** A: I was looking at this, but haven't purchased. I have a 6 qt. popper, how much do you use?** A: Yes, you mix it in with the oil and popcorn while its heating up. As far as quantity, a little bit goes a long way. You use a teaspoon for every 6-8 oz of kernels. **Q: can this be used on hot air popcorn or microwaved (no oil) popcorn?** A: I sprinkle it on microwave pop corn so i don't see why you couldn't put it on hot air popcorn.
