Most of us know Marcus Miller as bassist for Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, David Sanborn and George Benson or as a composer for eg. Jay-Z. Sire Marcus Miller M7 Swamp Ash-5 2nd Gen represents the latest generation of Sire electric basses that have been upgraded on a number of points. Compared to first generation models, Sire Marcus Miller V7 Swamp Ash-5 2nd Gen has new pickups that deliver a clearer and more transparent sound. Rosewood fingerboard has been replaced with an ebony fingerboard and the fingerboard edges have been rounded to give the bass a better playability. On 2nd Gen, Sire also replaced the high gloss lacquer on the back of the neck with a satin lacquer to make the neck more comfortable to play. Construction Marcus Miller M7 Swamp Ash-5 2nd Gen natural, is based on a stylish design that gives the bass a good balance whether you are standing up or sitting down. The body is made of ash wood, which is known for producing a well-balanced sound that is resonant and which provides a good balance with a pleasant treble, a firm bass and a subdued midrange. On top of the ash body, a solid maple top is laid, which, in addition to looking really nice, adds extra clarity to the bass and makes the tone of Marcus Miller M7 livelier.
