I have two 15 pound dogs. One of them is much more likely to bark than the other. We live in a townhome in an area that has lots of people (and their dogs) walking by at a fairly constant rate. We also have a 7-month-old baby at home. Needless to say, when it is nap time, it is IMPERATIVE that the dogs don't bark and wake up the baby. We also don't have air conditioning, and in So Cal it is nice to be able to leave your front door open (and screen door closed and locked) to allow some air flow. We were at our wit's end until we found this handy dandy little device. About 30 minutes after I put it out by the front door, one of our dogs started barking and running towards the door like she does anytime somebody walks by (and puts our lives in danger I'm sure) and after about three or four barks she abruptly stopped and walked back to me looking very guilty indeed! The only negative I would have for this is that you need a 9 volt battery for it and it doesn't come with it. I had to run to the store for the battery when I realized I didn't have one as it is not as common as say AA or AAA batteries. But for $20 I can't complain too much, especially since it worked so well for me! Edit: It worked really well for like 2 days.
