The straps are double fabric in this pattern, so not see through at all, and wide enough to provide coverage for my C cup. A hint for big chested support/more back coverage: after going over shoulders, crisscross and bring the straps back around underneath the fabric covering the chest (as pictured) then cross and wrap around the back and again to the front to tie. If you flatten the fabric running across the back it also provides more back coverage.Takes a bit of playing around but this was my favorite way to wrap it.Con: I wish the elastic waistband was a little wider. Bought one in black from IWEMEK that had a thicker/ sturdier feeling elastic. The fabric is a really good quality, stretchy, soft jersey material. It almost feels like modal but it has some thickness to it so it helps conceal bumps and unevenness a little better. I've ordered my fair share of Chinese dresses on amazon that look cute in the pictures but end up looking more like wish in real life. This dress is intended as part of my Halloween costume. I have little gold snake earrings with matching green dark drop jewels, a medusa headpiece, and a gold cobra statement necklace/bib.The dress you slide on like a maxi skirt and then it has two long (really long) chest pieces that you can tie creatively in multiple configurations to highlight what you like and reveal what you don't. The easiest thing to do is probably to bring each piece up over your breast and cross it behind your neck. As you pull, the tension creates lift for the girls if you are going bra-less. Then wrap it around your waist a couple of times like you would extra laces on boots to tie it either in the front or the back. There is for sure the opportunity to get creative with the wrapping portion. Twisting the fabric, spreading it out for more coverage etc. The length of the ties is what creates this versatility. It's really pretty in addition to being good quality. It has quality and I would buy it again for another occasion or costume. A light purple for Megara from Hercules, beige for one of the muses, light purple again for a different take on Ursula, or the light blue gradient would be a pretty ice-queen. The price makes it an exceptional value for what it is and it's nice to know that you're secure in it and won't fall apart. I would buy it maybe also for a beach coverup or a beach wedding bridesmaid dress. IF you go braless, the thickness of the fabric won't show your nipples, but it's thin enough that you'd notice if it were chilly. I would suggest getting one of those little rabbit sticky bras that's essentially a pasty.
