I am 5’7 and 170 lbs due to weightlifting but I can usually still wear smalls in a lot of workout shorts.I bought 2 pairs so let me break it down the best way I know how.“STRIPE”These have very minimal stretch. A lot of reviews said to size up which I did (Medium) and they fit really well.A small would have definitely been uncomfortable since there is little to no give. They are fairly thick and a pretty sturdy pair of shorts. I prefer to wear these when I do upper body, deadlifts, etc. As far as squatting goes, mine are thick enough to squat in but I don’t prefer to because the inside of these shorts is completely white instead of the pattern so when these shorts roll up it looks a little strange.“BURGUNDY”In the solid pair I went with a size small. They are a thinner material and super stretchy. I LOVE them! Be mindful that unlike the pattern shorts, these have a hidden inner pocket (Some people like that, others don’t) I can do just about every type of workout in these including squat. They do roll up a bit but that is the curse for anyone with quads or larger thighs. Some reviews mentioned that they are not squat proof and that they are see through. Welllll, this happens with a lot of shorts and leggings made in this material and it may be overshare but I just go commando and cut the tags out. Also, I would not recommend either pair for running. Hope this helps someone!All in all, I love both of these pairs of shorts and they can’t be beat for the price. Spent the morning wearing these shorts to run and lift weights. Only took a few minutes of running for these to ride up so far up my crotch that it was not enjoyable. While my cheeks weren't hanging out, it might as well have been a bikini bottom. The old man running behind did his best to keep up with me for the 3 mile run. He was carted off in an ambulance at the end. He was smiling though.
