The Megapro came in third place out of fourteen tested, just behind PB Swiss and LTT, and at a much better price. It also comes with an excellent assortment of bits conveniently stored in the handle. The bit carousel is held very securely in the handle but pulls out easily and rotates smoothly. I already own several ratchets, including a ratcheting screwdriver and a couple of t-handle ratchets, and every 1/4” hex bit you can think of, but I wanted a convenient, all-in-one grab and go option, and the Megapro checks the most boxes out of all those I was considering. I prefer magnetic bits to ball detent, and the bit storage system as well as the bit selection is superior to every other comparable driver. I would have liked a few hex (Allen) bits as part of the selection, but the fact that they use standard 1” bits means you can mix and match with other bits that you own and are more likely to need. The only thing that would have made it perfect would be if they used double sided bits like the Wiha 26-in-1 Ultra Driver, which I also own. I suppose if Wiha made a ratcheting 26-in-1, I would have bought that for the sake of convenience and more “on board” options, but in my opinion the Megapro is currently the best most complete package available. Also, there is no indicator on the handle to tell you if you are set on clockwise, counterclockwise, or lock. Not a big deal at all, but it would be nice to know when you grab the tool without having to twist it to find out. These are standard bits, so you can buy replacements and other choices. You can also store these aftermarket 1-inch standard size bits in the back of the screwdriver. 2/ This one also includes 1 less phillips head, it does not include the smallest size. In lieu of that it includes a torx T-27. **Q: So someone help me here... what's the difference between this and the channlock 131cb? they both look like they came from the same exact factory line.** A: The Megapro mentioned has 12 quarter inch bits of various heads and sizes that are held in place with a magnet. The Channellock has 6 dual sided bits the are held in place using a ball detent. I like the 12 bit magnetic system better because you can use the bits in most single sided 1/4 inch drivers like a screw guide or another 1/4 inch drive screwdriver. The dual sided bits are harder to find and won't fit in most screw guides and other 1/4 inch drivers. Also, I like being able to customize the driver for my application and the Megapro allows me 12 individual choices for whatever purpose I choose. To my knowledge, Megapro makes the Channellock drivers. The ratcheting drivers are made in Canada and the regular drivers are made here in the USA. Unfortunately, all bits are made in Taiwan. (don't get the versions with double-end bits) *by N***W on August 27, 2022* Okay, confession: I'm a fan of LTT (YouTube: LinusTechTips). They're developing a screwdriver, and during one of their live streams, Linus revealed that he's using this screwdriver to design his. (He has licensed with MegaPro to use some of their patents, so this is all 100% legal. And I'm guessing that a future model by MegaPro could use some of the improvements that Linus developed.) However, as of this review, the LTT screwdriver has not yet released. I've had the MegaPro screwdriver for a couple months, and I've used it for several jobs around the house. It is my go-to for nearly every project (except for prying: I don't want to risk damaging it). Because the bits are an industry-standard design, finding replacements is simple (as opposed to double-ended bits... they can be found, but not as easily), and nearly any standard bit will fit this screwdriver. - Update... The LTT screwdriver has released. I ordered one, but haven't received it yet. Project Farm (another YouTube channel) did a comparison of 14 ratcheting screwdrivers, including the LTT screwdriver, as well as a different model of the MegaPro. Summary: LTT ranked second, and the MegaPro ranked third. They got beaten by PB Swiss, but the PB Swiss is twice as expensive as the LTT screwdriver, and well over 3 times more expensive than the MegaPro. In relation to the Project Farm video, I feel that I need to point out differences between the MegaPro driver he tested and the one in my review: 1. The tested model has double-end bits, and the in-handle storage holds 6 of them. The Megapro Automotive has standard single bits, and the handle stores 12. 2. Project Farm's tested model does not have a magnetic tip, which caused it to drop in the overall ranking. The Megapro Automotive does have a magnetic tip. It wasn't tested (obviously), but I believe its ranking would jump, and might even overtake the LTT screwdriver. 3. I believe the ratcheting design is the same between the tested model and the Automotive, so those test result should be valid here also. In conclusion, the MegaPro, bang-for-the-buck, is the best ratcheting screwdriver on the market, and this model (with the standard single bits) is the best MegaPro has. I could not be happier with my purchase. - New update... Finally got my LTT screwdriver, and had time to test it. (I left a 4-star review for it on the LTT website on 26 Dec 2022, under the title "Almost Perfect.") Now that I've had time with both screwdrivers, there are some additional notes... 1. I was extremely impressed by the knurling on the shaft of the LTT screwdriver, and would love to see it incorporated in future Megapro products. 2. The ratcheting mechanism is reversed on the LTT screwdriver, and I find that I actually prefer it, especially when bearing down with both hands: the LTT screwdriver allows me to grip the entire handle without worrying about accidentally switching the ratcheting direction. 3. Handle size: the Megapro has a larger handle, presumably because it holds "normal" bits rather than the "shorty" bits of the LTT screwdriver. For my larger hands, I prefer the Megapro, especially because of the rubberized grip (as opposed to the simply plastic handle of the LTT screwdriver). 4. Bit storage: the Megapro Automotive stores up to 12 "normal" single-end bits, whereas putting those same bits into the LTT screwdriver limits me to 6. Sure, replacement bits for the LTT screwdriver do exist, but the industry standard design that Megapro Automotive uses is far superior. Final notes: Megapro Automotive: 5 stars ... LTT: 4 stars.
