Review: Great Value! - I have saved up and treated myself to several "real" pieces of Kartell furniture, and I suppose you could call me a fan, addict, whatever. If I could have afford a house full, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I don't know how to explain this, so will do the best I can. Kartell quality is so far off the charts, it's hard to compare to anything else. It's like the Tiffany of plastics. This is probably 75% of Kartell quality, but 75% of superlative is still really pretty darn good. The chair is comfortable, sturdy, and clear enough (nothing is going to compare to Kartell clear, but really- if you have to have it THAT optically clear, then spend the bigger bucks. This clear is perfectly acceptable). I am very happy with it. It is slightly smaller than I expected, but that's fine, because I bought it to put under a glass desk, and it slides in very nicely. We had considered getting a set for a dining table but after receiving it, we didn't think they'd be comfortable enough for that, and ended up getting the IKEA Tobias instead. If you are a chair squirmer or tend to rock back on to the front or back legs, you may eventually find it a problem, but, look at the type of chair it is, and know that that kind of stress would be an issue regardless of who made the chair. I had an older Tobias split in half on me one time when I unthinkingly plopped down too hard on it. For the price, this fashionable and well made chair is a perfectly acceptable substitute. In fact, the price is mind bogglingly reasonable, considering that it was free Prime shipping. And can I just say: the packing on this chair was simply fantastic. I usually cut packing boxes down to small pieces and stick them into a bag for the recycling pickup. I gave up after just cutting the flaps off of this box. You could poke some air holes and ship yourself to your next holiday in this box, if you were so inclined.

**Q: This chair is the original Philippe Starck design ? or its a copy ?**
A: Melanie,Most certainly a copy. We have two, and they are fine specimens from a company interested in making high quality reproductions. We looked at the Louis XIV version at DWR, and the non-Louis Ghost (the armless ones we bought) and opted for the reproductions as office chairs. We're very pleased with them (we spend ~1-2 hours on them/day, unless we work from home, and they've yet to be uncomfortable). We are also planning on buying the Flash version of the aforementioned Louis XIV to complement other authentic first run DWR chairs at our dining table. We're impressed: good luck.

**Q: The web page for this item, there's an option to pay over $50 for the item to be assembled. But reviews say it comes assembled. What gives?**

A: The chair is 36" high, 15" wide, and seat is 19" high.  Very comfortable.

**Q: i'm seeing varied answers on the seat dimensions of this chair.  specifically, what is the width of the chair?  12.5", 13" or 15"?**
A: Hello! At the chair's rear, where the seat attaches to the seatback, the width is 11.5". Midway between the seatback and front, it's 12.0". And at the seat's front, it's 13.5". Note: the maximum width is at the rear, where the legs attach to the seatback: 15.0". We bought two: they're fantastic!

I already have this chairs for 5 years they are very well appealing function very good the clear color make it fit to any home decor style overall, to clean I just use glass cleaner and they look brand new (mom of 4 kids). I have two arm chairs and 4 regular love them.
