I use the two internal pockets for my phone and door key and there is enough room in the sling to rest a small purse or wallet in there too. I've put this in the washing machine (in a mesh bag) and no damage at all. I plan to buy a second brace before surgery, so I always have a clean one to wear. My only negative point is that I have had to adjust the strap to its shortest for my arm to be at a high enough position (elbow at a right angle) for the sling to relieve pain. The thick strap that goes over the shoulder isn't adjustable. The narrower part of the strap that is near to the hand in the picture, is where the adjustment buckle is. What you see in the picture, is basically what it will be like, this is the angle that your wrist will be at, maybe an inch higher, but not much more. **Q: How long is the supppt from the elbow to the wrist** A: The sling supports the area from halfway up the arm above the elbow to 2cms above the wrist. There are 2 thumb straps to help maintain the position. I find it quite comfortable 😌 **Q: Does it use velcro. The one my son was issued with from the hospital does and it's already losing its stick. It seems 'too weak' to hold securely.** A: The sling does use velcro at the end of the straps but it is quite secure. I wore the sling every day for several hours for 12 weeks and it remained secure. I still use the sling when needed and it is still secure and provides the required support. Good product , lightweight and cool. Adapts to either arm. Shoulder strap easily adapted to suit required height. Can just lift over my head to partially remove and rest my elbow. Much better than the heavy woolly Velcro sling I was given in hospital.
