Caterpillars arrived in a very early stage with plenty of time to watch grow! I think 2/10 will not make it (one has a cracked chrysalis and the other did not hang in J shape). I’m glad I got the kit with 10 so we can still hopefully see our butterflies emerge soon 🦋 Such a beautiful homeschool addition. Will definitely be an annual tradition! This is very age-appropriate. Such a fun experience! My son needed to observe something like a butterfly or moth from start to finish for his insect merit badge with scouts. This was so easy. The caterpillars come in a cup with all the food you need so you just watch them grow and form the chrysalis. It’s so easy to transfer them to the enclosure since all you have to do is transfer the lid to the lid holder after gently removing the extra silk so they hang down. I wish the top opened the whole way though (it only unzips halfway). It’s also a plastic top instead of mesh, but I don’t mind this because it’s easier to see them this way. Great experience for the money! Can’t wait to release them with him.
