A: unscrew if screw is in then prise open screw end i admit mine am fidley but they will open

A: There are 40 lights on 2 strings which are separate. Each string has a battery pack. They are completely separate  20 lights on each string. Each string is around 2 metres long. The lights are about 10 cms apart

A: They take three AA batteries.

The fairy lights come neatly rolled up in a box and take 3 AA batteries each set which last a long time. I put a set in a jar with a bamboo lid on my kitchen windowsill, they look great and it's surprising how much light they throw out. Another set are in the hallway in a particular dark area. The string of lights are very bendy and can be wrapped or molded around things which makes them very versatile and are a great for the price, I purchased two boxes because they are so good.

Seem fine, very pretty once unravelled and in situ. Big battery pack for a tiny string. Found opening the battery pack very tricky. Be interesting to see how long the batteries last.
