Use a small screwdriver or small pliers. They are sturdy, a solid click of the button. Quick and easy to install. And also an excellent price. I may order an extra box just to have them ready. Great for Christmas lights! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plusses and Minuses - overall good (NOT momentary BTW) *by J***R on December 23, 2019* We got these for a small Christmas Tree and having spares always nice.PROSWorksGood clickOK to installCONSNo instructionsCrimping harder than expected - suspect it will not handle rated 10A unless solderedNeed more tools than typical 'roller' in-line switch2 halves & press-together. Not sure how easy it'll be to take apartTo Install :Tools - wire cutter, stripper, common screwdriver, molars (pliers preferred)- cut one leg (smooth) of wire and separate wires about 12mm on each side- strip ~5mm from each end- tuck a bare wire in terminal- crimp or solder wire/terminal ( I used a screwdriver on table-top to crush terminal - suspect there's better way)- repeat for other end- carefully TEST switch, being careful not to touch exposed wires- if OK install cover with pliersThankfully worked first try and happy with price/quality of product. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Kind of problematic, you will need to solder *by P***R on February 6, 2021* I could not find a punch that would flatten the crimps inside, so I had to solder the wires in place. Soldering did not deform the plastic, even though it took a few seconds for the internal shiny plated to take the solder. Fit was a bit tight even with 18ga lamp cord. There is strain relief once the halves are pressed together. I think the device is safe, be sure to cut the break on the hot side of the cord if it is polarized. The device is slightly curved, so if you want to stick it on something, you will need to shim it in the center with an extra layer of double sided tape or something.As others have pointed out, you might want to pay a bit more for a higher quality switch that can possibly assemble without soldering.
