The regular volume controls are louder than your average phone system. I have to keep the volume on 2 of 5 when I use them. But with the volume on 5 + the boost button, my dad can hear the other person. It's the first time in 4 years he's been able to talk with his sisters out-of-state. Usually, I'm the interpreter when they call. They're all too old & frail to travel to see each other, so no price can be put on the ability for them to be able to talk to each other on a regular basis. There's a red light on top of the phone & one on the base that flashes when the phone rings, so it provides a visual cue that the phone is ringing. Battery life off of the base is somewhere between 24-36 hours, which is great.That's where the benefits of this system end. The screen is 2" W x 1-1/4" H. There are 4 data lines on the screen, so I would estimate it's a Times New Roman size 12 - 13 font. I'm in my 50s and I can't read the screen unlit. Pushing the "end call" button will light up the screen. My dad cannot read the screen at all. There's no way to adjust the size or reconfigure the screen. It would be wonderful if the entire screen displayed the time in a huge font when not in use or not ringing, but it doesn't. It would also be nice if the display showed the phone number in a larger font when the phone is ringing, but it doesn't. Now let's move on to its more annoying & nit-picky features. Handset 1 will not charge if it's not placed in the main base. If you happen to place it in the other base, the phone will emit a series of beeps every 5 minutes & will not charge. The same goes for Handset 2. The base beeps every 5 minutes if someone has left a message, which is great if you've been away. Even if you listen to the message(s), the base will continue beeping as long as they're stored on the machine. So you have to delete them all or put up with it beeping all of the time. You can access the messages from either handset. However, if you use the handset to listen to or delete your messages, it does not delete them from the base or the other phone. Which is great if you accidentally erase an important message. However, if you're already in bed & let a call go to voicemail, the base will beep every 5 minutes all night long. So, you have to get up, listen to & delete the messages, and delete them from both handsets. The handsets flash the red light if there is a missed call. Even if you answer a call, the handset still registers it as a missed call. If you cycle thru the calls to get rid of the "missed call" message & flashing light, the other handset still flashes & says there are missed calls. There is no way to delete specific calls off of the Caller ID or to clear the entire list & start over fresh.The sound quality & battery life are great, but there are so many double, triple, and quadruple redundancies built into the system that makes it almost unusable & very, very frustrating. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thing To Remember *by B***. on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on September 2, 2020* To prep. for initial use, each unit is to be placed in the main base to "Register" , to complete function.
