The "chain" itself seems strong enough for my needs. Overall, it seems to be well made - good quality.I got a black "chain" with a black clasp. It looks great. I like the quality weave of the leather in the "chain".I was concerned that the leather might be stiff and uncomfortable, but it's not. It's great. The "chain" is very soft and supple / flexible, almost more so than paracord. It's very comfortable against my neck.
