The kids were very pleased to have "real" magnifying glasses that let them see the details of the rocks. The magnifying glasses are made from sturdy, thick plastic. They should last for years! The lenses are, as another person noted, about the size of a half-dollar. The quality of lenses is very good considering the cost, and the 5x magnification worked very well for close examination. The 15x magnifier is very small, but useable. I read many reviews before choosing this set. I highly recommend these.
