We have been really super loyal customers to Icebreaker, loving their merino base layers in 2013, 2014, 2015 but then we noticed a drop in quality. This will probably be the last time we chance spending a rather significant sum of money on Icebreaker garments that now hold none of the promise that they used to. We still wear icebreaker items from 2013 & 2014, those are still in amazing shape. These newer items however feel different (the merino is rougher, less soft, the seams are not really made with the same attention to detail) the fabric on this particular item was VERY sheer. Unwearably sheer, the kind of sheer that you imagine a thin white t-shirt would be in a wet t-shirt situation.. It has length to it, so able to tuck it in and not worry about riding or rolling up. I also use it to sleep in when traveling. it gives you the perfect blend of comforting cool and warmth. Not itchy at all. It is on the sheer side, and is meant as a buttery soft layer. It washes well and is very durable.
