Don't do what I did! Please read this

This is a GREAT drill bit if it fits your rotary hammer. Sorry for the 1 star but I needed to get your attention.I had NO idea they made two different size SDS bits. Yes, I live in a cave. I've always had the larger size SDS which they call Max. This drill bit is called SDS Plus which is a STUPID word to describe the smaller one (in my opinion). Lets face it. If your significant other is a "Plus" size then they are large. That's how the word "Plus" is used these days... Yes, I did read the description and I did look at the pictures. I also saw the word "Plus" so I'm not blaming anyone but myself but COME ON This is a 39" beast with a tiny little toddler SDS shank on the end. I didn't even realize they called the larger SDS a "Max". When I saw "Plus" I just assumed that's obviously what I have as I've never seen a larger one than mine. Again, who uses the word "Plus" to describe the smaller of two things?? That's like saying Andre was not a Giant was only enormous.Looking at the Amazon ad- one pic is correct in showing this bit and the other shows the larger style. Due to the fact that this Amazon ad is for different size bits It didn't really think much of it. Don't do what I did! Order the correct size bit and understand that there is a smaller version of the SDS out there that they call a "Plus" size.

    Beware!!!

*by D***O on Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2020*

The drill bit is everything that it's supposed to be; however, there is a possible downside and it has nothing to do with the drill bit itself. Be warned. Whomever was responsible for packaging should either be offered a job at Fort Knox or become a target at a shooting gallery. The tool was wrapped in this adhesive, form fitting bubble wrap that in my 70 years have never encountered. It took me 24 minutes to extricate the item from this stuff. It took 24 minutes of cussing that I didn't know that I was capable of and I'm a former Marine. It was the toughest material that I have ever encountered and I'm not exaggerating or embellishing my experience at all. You will need an extremely sharp razor knife and wear gloves. It is truly nasty stuff. I almost gave up to either run off and join the French Foreign Legion or search for God at any monastery that would accept me. You have been warned.

It gets the job done but it is NOT 8" ...

It gets the job done but it is NOT 8" long... actual penetration depth is about 4.5" (and yes, that is what she said).
