Review: Great performance at a nice price point - This is great vacuum for use in remodeling. (I guess the correct term is 'dust extractor") Great for use with sanders. It is powerful , at the same time it is light weight, easy to maneuver, has a very long and light weight hose. Very strong air flow, which works extremely well with keeping dust to near zero when used with a quality sander, such as Festool. I have a Festool 'dust extractor' as well. However, the Fein is at least as good, if not better, and cost about half. Yes it cost a lot more than a basic wet-dry vac. If a basic wet dry is what you are after, then this may not be for you. If however, you are looking for something to use with attaching to sanders, or your tracksaw, this will give you superior performance over a basic wet-dry. If you are on the fence on this one, go for it. You will not be disappointed.
Review: Good machine. Quieter than other shop vacs, but still far from quiet. - Works great. I will say that while it is the quietest shop vac I have ever used, it is still a far cry from "quiet." It is definitely louder than a normal conversation or a restaurant setting like the db chart said. (Maybe not if you are at a bar restaurant with music blaring!) Anyway, I use it with my Rotary Engraving machine and it works well. I do have to keep a fan blowing into it to keep the recirculating air cool enough that I don't burn it out after many hours of constant use. I shot it with my thermometer last week and it was 150 degrees where the air was coming out after about 1.5 hours, with my extra fan blowing on it. So, it does get hot and it does quickly heat up the small room I have it set up in. I also still have to wear ear plugs because it is loud and it has a very high pitched, loud and constant noise in it, where the smaller hose attached to my engraving machine feeds into the step adapter connected to the regular hose. (My pets hate it, too!) I think it is the sound of the air moving around the smaller hose, or possibly whipping the smaller hose around in the adapter. All in all- it's been a great solution for my engraving machine dust collection without having to spend upwards of $1,000 on an industrial collection/vacuum system for it.

**Q: Is the stock filter a 1 micron or what comes with the vac?  I see a hepa filter is $109--ouch.**
A: It's my understanding that the stock filter is rated at 1 micron.  Hopefully you won't need the HEPA often.  I keep mine on the shelf most of the time.

**Q: What is the country of manufacture?  Thank you**
A: fein tools are made in Germany..

**Q: Does this work on Sheetrocking dust from sanding?**
A: It probably will, but if you are a professional drywaller, it will not be big enough.  Another problem would be the cost of filter bags.  Amazon sells (5) bags for $31.12.  They are not reusable.  You might try to use a cyclone separator to reduce the amount of dust that makes it to the filter bag.  I posted a photo with a Dust Deputy cyclone separator and PVC piping.  There are also a couple other photos showing cyclone setups.

**Q: Does this vacuum have an air outlet for a hoze so that it can be used as a blower?**
A: It does not John.

Works great. I will say that while it is the quietest shop vac I have ever used, it is still a far cry from "quiet." ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quiet and powerful

After reading several reviews complaining about hose and accessory quality, as well as an apparent issue with the too triggered switch,I was hesitant. But after further consideration, I decided it would work for me. 1) I keep the vac in one place as a dust collector for my sanders. It never travels, so hose quality isn't an issue. 2) I use a remote switch, so the tool triggered switch isn't an issue. After about a month, I find it performs as well or better than my older Feins did, and is just as quiet. If you plan on toting it around to jobsites and using the tool switch, it may be an issue, but if you use it like I do it is a great vac for the money. 3) I want to add what may sound like "back-handed complaint:" It is VERY quiet. I have an air cleaner running all the time, and when I have ear protectors on, I can barely hear the vac. As a result, I frequently end up forgetting to turn it off! After a year of using it, I love it, though. Extremely powerful, quick and easy hi quality bag changes, and excellent filtration.
