Dark, twisted and totally spot on Killian and Cilla are a well matched pair. As always the writing is flawless, the characters well fleshed out and the Heat is turned up High. Though a stand alone book there is mention of characters from her Benedetti Brothers books. I read this book in one long relaxed sitting. Totally worth it! Five Smoldering Stars on this one! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the Best Books I have Read in a Long Time. *by H***M on Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2018* Captive Beauty grabs you from the very first page and does not let go until the finish the last page! I was looking for more when I read The End, because I did not want to let the story go! It was impossible to put this book down once started. You never knew what would happen next. Cilla and Kit are antagonists from the beginning. Kit never pretends to be a good man, yet he admired Cilla's determination to help her brother. Their story takes you through every possible emotion from Cilla's extreme fear and dislike to both of them wanting more from each other, yet knowing it is impossible with all the secrets. the journey they took together through anger, trials, angst and developing emotions was so well written by Natasha Knight that this story flowed from one chapter to another.I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It was one of the best reads that I have had in a long time. But this book! You will not regret it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Killian Black! *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2018* I enjoyed this book and unlike a lot of readers, I didn’t feel it was that dark. There were some dark elements, some experiences that each of these characters lived through years earlier. However to me personally, the story itself just wasn’t that dark.I loved Killian. I liked his edginess and thoroughly enjoyed watching him fall for Cilla. He continually tried to remind himself that Cilla was temporary while struggling with the feelings he was developing for her. Killian was protective of her and wanted to slay anyone who had ever hurt her, even Cilla herself.Cilla was a b$$$hy brat and I had a difficult time finding patience for her character. She was the one who, without hesitation, volunteered herself in exchange for her brother’s safety. Cilla was not a stupid person, so there is no way she didn’t know the seriousness of the situation. She pushed and provoked Kill every chance she got and then acted surprised when he got mad. She didn’t come across as being a strong woman, just a naive pain. I think had her big secret been revealed early on, I could have sympathized with her character and liked her much better. It’s explained clearly what happened to Killian and his sister, therefore it’s easy to understand his troubled past and the reason for his actions. Cilla’s big secret however is never really revealed. It’s hinted at towards the end of the book and it is terrible. I just felt it should have been more clearly laid out to justify Cilla’s actions with respect to her brother.A new character is introduced at the end whose book will release later this year.
