It is heavy. It heats very even. It retains heat a lot longer than other cheaper pans. I can usually turn off the stove and it will continue to cook for a long time. I love to make over easy eggs and they slide so easy and can easily be flipped. Grilled ham and cheese comes out so perfect golden and not burned. steak will sear perfectly and still be rare or med rare (which is exactly the way I love it). Clean up. Oh my the clean up. I use a dry paper towel and wipe the bottom. No water till it cools down but while it is warm a paper towel gets up 90% of the debris and oils. Cold water and some liquid dish detergent in the sink and it is spotless. No elbow grease needed.I never use any metal utensils in this pan. NEVER! I have no need to use metal utensils because this is so slick and slippery. I never cut anything inside the pan. I have no idea how it would hold up to such abuse, but lucky for me I will never have to find out. A pleasure to cook with. The skillet heats evenly. Omelettes cook perfectly on medium heat. Steaks sear deliciously on high. Just a great all purpose skillet. I finally got smart and decided to spring for a good quality pan rather than continually having to replace the cheaper non-stick "green pans." This is a better long term value. Love the size. It is a little heavier than my All Clad but not as bad as cast iron pans. The handle is easy to grip and stays cool. I wash it by hand and it cleans easily. Berndes has a good reputation and I'd say they deserve it. But it wasn't. It is a heavy duty, excellent, non-sticking pan. I do all the cooking in my home and have for over 40 years of being married. My wife simply doesn't cook. So when my other non-stick surface pan "died" I went shopping. I read with great interest other reviews of the Berndes tradition and decided to give this a try. We lived in Germany for two years and most things built by German companies, sadly, far exceed most American companies for the same product. This is true for this pan. The price is a little higher than the other brand names, but the quality far exceeds your expectations. I don't think you will be disappointed.
