Because so many fabrics are blends now. This is a nice lightweight cotton sheeting-type nightgown. No it is not “jersey” or “knit” feeling because that is not what it is. It’s like a thin sheet. That is cotton. After months of washing it will be very soft - the reviewers who report “washing it twice and it’s still stiff” are not versed in how long it takes for this type of fabric to become super soft. And I was puzzled by reviewers who complain that the care instructions say not to machine dry. Is it so difficult to throw a nightgown over a shower curtain or on a drying rack instead of throwing it in a dryer and removing it from a dryer?? Seems like the same effort either way. Again, they do not understand standard care for cotton. I agree that ordering up is a good idea. Usually I’m XL but got XXL and it is roomy and comfortable. Disregard the reviews from people who don’t know fabric types.
