It isn't soft like silicone...it is firm but slid in just perfectly on each side. wipes clean easily also. **Q: any chance in ordering an oven gap guard black 2 at 25'' and 1 at 31'' ?** A: You can cut the gap guard to achieve that “custom fit” look. We did. Good product. **Q: does this come in white and how long are they** A: I am responding to a previous inappropriate response. The person complained that crumbs still fell between the stove and counter. That person needs to know that if they have a gap wider than 1/2", this isn't the correct product and products called "gap fillers" might have been better for her. I am buying this product because I only have a small 1/8-1/4" gap and didn't want the really wide gap filler models. Regarding the original question, I believe it says 24" long which can be trimmed but this is the black only version. It looks much better too.These are not wafer thin especially considering they have a magnetic strip on them. Make sure you measure and have room for one on each side. Mine barely fit without having to move the oven out and adjust it to fit both on it.The magnetic isn't super strong but strong enough to hold it still to make cleaning easy.I'm not sure they are actually worth the asking price, but for how they look and the ease of cleaning, these two pieces are worth it. I only wish that I had purchased them first before the gasket type, but I was trying to save money. I didn't want the normal gap fillers that flap over the edges. My stove is about 1/2" higher than the counters so the popular silicone-type gap fillers would not have looked good to me. Plus they are too big, I prefer the more streamlined look of these. These cling to the side of the stove with magnetic strips and can be positioned exactly where desired. This came in a pack of 2, we picked the color black because our stove and refrigerator are black. The color matches perfectly. The magnets are very strong, they do not become separated or fall.No more crumbs in the little crack between our appliances and the counter, which is great because it's very hard to clean them up from that small area. These are about 1" too short for the length of our counter, so we positioned them level with the front and left the 1" gap in the back - which works out o.k., because you usually don't spill things on the back 1" of your counter.Some other reviews have said that they melt from the heat of the stove, but we disagree.
