So change them before this happen's, it is swings and roundabouts, what you win on the price you lose on replacing them more often. **Q: what is the difference between these and the standard amazon basics?** A: i am not so sure i think it means they will last longer than the Amazon basics. I like to know where things are manufactured.** A: If you had looked at the pictures supplied and read down the side of one of the batteries, you would see that they are made in China.......... **Q: I have an ebl alkaline battery charger can these be recharged. i can't see on batteries if they state rechargeable?** A: Only a few years ago Alkaline battery’s were not rechargeable. Now they are not rechargeable in 99% of applications. It is only the ni-cad (very old rechargeable) and Nickle Metal Hydride (normal rechargeable). If you confirm that your charger is actually for Alkaline batteries (and alkaline battery chargers do exist and have for a while) then these will be suitable. The battery’s that are not suitable for yours will be the ones labelled ‘Heavy Duty’ or with ‘Zinc Carbon’ in the spec. You will need to be a little careful. I must say that there is usually no reason that normal alkaline should be recharged, they are not good for that. Use normal Nickle Metal Hydride ones for recharging and keep your Alkalines on the shelf as they have a longer storage time. 1.5V non rechargeable sand 1.2V rechargeable a refer to their open cell (unloaded voltage). Once a drain is applied they generally respond the same way so I personally would ditch the non rechargeable recharger and just use rechargeables.
