Honestly, I can't say that I notice results with this, or with the fancy brand, but hoping that it helps as part of an overall skin care regimen. The box and bottle were both sealed, though there doesn't seem to be any lot or expiration date marked. The serum is a typical amber color, and absorbs well with only a touch of stickiness (definitely not "silky" as some reviews claim). Package states "no animal testing," which is also important to me. I'll continue to buy unless I find a better product for the price. EDIT: in the second bottle I purchased, the serum is clear rather than amber-colored. I think it does darken with time, so perhaps the second bottle was fresher.
