For months I resisted his pleas for ripped jeans and finally caved in. I grew up in the 70s and I know from experience how to take a pair of jeans and make them look just like this, and I also know they will end up in shreds after a few washings. If I'm wrong, I will update this review!But he loves them, and I'm surprised to find that I think they look really good! The waist is proportionally bigger than the rest of the pants. My son wears a 32 waist but the only sizes available were 31 and 33 so we got the 33 so he could at least get into them. So the waist is a tad big, but if we went a size down the legs would have been too tight. But it's no big deal.In a few places, the rips look obviously a bit fake as they could never occur naturally, such as a square hole in a back pocket. But over all, they're a good looking pair of wrecked jeans!UPDATE: My son has been wearing these for a few weeks and let me warn you, wash them in a Gentle cycle and line dry if possible. They arrived on time and well packaged, fit is true to the measurements (typical asian sizes, for non asians go a size up and check the measurements) and the material is denim-like a bit on the thick side but still quite flexible. The waist is a bit low but not to a problematic degree. Might need a belt because the legs are tight but the waist is more loose.
