The removable intake cover, which is made from very thin plastic, arrived cracked nearly in two with several of the plastic "grill" pieces broken and lying in a box with absolutely no additional cardboard or bubble wrap to provide protection during shipment. The pump arrived with a few other items in a larger box. The larger box -- too large, this allowed items to just bounce around -- had no packaging material either to protect items from being damaged during transit. However, the actual box that contained this pump did NOT have damage. This leads me to the troubling conclusion that the pump was packed already broken. However, with it being shipped so poorly, I can't be certain that the pump wasn't damaged during shipping.Also, the back cover (opposite the intake grill) falls off very easily, as well as the rubber suction cups. One last thing, I believe the "Ultra Quiet" in the product description is a bit misleading if you can hear the pump running in the next room. Having said all that, for my purposes, this pump can still work for my intended purpose. I'm only using to transfer water from a small barrel to another container. So, in my case, the broken intake, loose covers, less than "Ultra Quiet" does not matter so much. However, I am going to wait and see if someone contacts me to make this right -- I thought I was paying a premium to get a better quality pump; others this size were six to eight dollars cheaper. I definitely got LESS than I was expecting.
