Elastics at wrists and waist are not uncomfortably tight, hood is somewhat adjustable and roomy enough to cover my mass of thick dreadlocks. It is lightweight overall, but while using it for activities (I distance walk daily and hike often), I am definitely warm enough in 50-degree weather. I have space to wear a tank or tee underneath, so would feel okay in an approx 35-70 degree range. I haven't checked it for its water repellent ability other than a light sprinkle, but it was fine for that; its a "wind-breaker," and it does that without issue. 2 out of 3 of my zippers had minor issues -- one's stitching is a little bit askew and the main front zipper feels somewhat flimsy; I think it will be okay if I'm conscientious about being careful as I near the bottom-end position (almost advisable to pull it over my head rather than stress the zip too often). There were several loose threads that needed to be snipped before it was ready to wear. The stuff pouch is a nice bonus feature for backpacking or glove compartment. Overall, I find this excellent for short-term or daily light use. I ordered the rose red shade -- its a deep pink and very bright (absolutely ped safe in the forest or in traffic) with a pale white print that is nearly invisible. In women's sizes I normally wear an x-small or small, so I ordered a small to be on the safe side after reading other reviews. The product appears to be more form fitting in the picture, however, the small was quite baggy on me.Otherwise, the jacket is extremely compact and lightweight. I'm traveling to Thailand during the rainy season (also humid - lightweight is perfect), so I need something that will not take up too much space in my luggage and keep me dry. I actually ran my arm under water for a few seconds to see how it would hold up, and within 20 seconds or so I could feel moisture on my arm. Initially disappointed, I planned to return. Not more than 2 minutes later, the jacket was as dry as a bone. So I imagine in a downpour, you may still get soaked. But in light to moderate rain and in small bursts, I am hoping it will keep me from getting completely wet.I should also mention that there are two large pockets inside the jacket. No zipper on the pockets, but a nice addition. There are also two elastic draw-bands at the waist and hood. As if I wasn't feeling bloated enough already, I zipped up the jacket and the further up I pulled the zipper, the faster the zipper teeth came unhooked. So, I attempted to pull the zipper down so I could take the jacket off. At this point, the jacket started mocking me. "What? You think you can just try to unzip me after I deemed you unworthy to wear me?" it sneered. I struggled to pull the zipper down but the teeth became offset because one side of the jacket moved more easily through the zipper than the other. Once that happened, there was no moving the zipper. And because the jacket runs a little small, I couldn't just pull it over my head to take it off.I still had hopes of salvaging the zipper and by then, the jacket itself. The jacket, however, had other ideas. After five minutes of struggling to move the zipper back down to its starting position, I gave up and attempted to just pull the teeth out of the zipper and take the jacket off that way. I pulled and pulled and pulled and the zipper held fast.
