## Description

The Apollo 94A series two-piece full port inline ball valve is made of brass and has a lever handle and female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded connections on both ends. This valve is made of brass for higher corrosion resistance than steel and has a steel lever handle with corrosion resistant plating and a vinyl sleeve for manual on/off control. The ball valve is full port for reduced friction; its inner diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the pipe it connects to enable maximum operating efficiency. The maximum pressure is 600 pounds per square inch (psi) for cold working pressure (CWP) for 1/4” to 2” valves and 400 psi CWP for 2-1/2” to 4” valves. The maximum temperature is 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The valve is inline for connecting two pipes going in the same direction and has NPT threads on both ends for creating tighter seals than straight threads. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seats and stem packing reduce the risk of valve leakage. This valve is for use with water lines, processing plants, and agricultural applications and meets standard ANSI/NSF 61 for quality assurance.Ball valves use a spherical disc to control the flow between pipes, tubes, or hoses. Flow is allowed when the hole that pierces the ball-shaped disc is in line with the inlet and outlet of the valve. Flow is blocked when the ball is horizontally swiveled 90 degrees, so that the hole of the ball is perpendicular to the opening of the valve. Ball valves can be referred to as full port or reduced port (also known as regular or standard port) depending on the inner diameter of the valve. A ball valve is full port if the hole of the ball is the same size as the inner diameter of the connecting pipeline (resulting in lower friction) and is reduced port if the hole of the valve is one pipe size smaller than the pipe, resulting in less flow through the valve than through the shaft of the pipe. Ball valves may have a handle or lever that aligns with the ball’s position (open or closed) for manual operation. Straight through design has high flow for large pressure washer - I'm talking 7 GPM with a 3/4" hose. 1/4 turn for full-on from off. They don't leak or drip, easy to install.

Not all valves are rated for flammable gas . This one is and a full port opening. Could not find this valve at the big box store. It would have to be ordered. Amazon got it delivered in a timely matter.

I have used Apollo valves and other Conbraco products in my position as Maintenance Manager for a Timken Bearing plant for 30 years. Apollo valves were always as good as you could get. I bought this Apollo valve for personal use from Amazon instead or a local commercial jobbing house. I noticed it didn't look right and was uncharacteristically hard to open and close. The threads were not cleanly cut and the handle and packing nut were not cleanly machined. I took the handle off the check if the packing nut was too tight and noticed the made in China engraving on the back of the handle. These valves are being marketed as Apollo INTERNATIONAL, NOT AMERICAN APOLLO. 40 YEARS OF QUALITY DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING IN USA THEN CUTTING CORNERS BY CHINESE MANUFACTURING EQUALS INFERIOR PRODUCTS. i WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM THIS SUPPLIER AGAIN. If amazons search algorithms continue to highlight Chinese junk products I will shop elsewhere.
