**Q: Is this a single clamp**

**Q: The Amazon image says they come as a pair, that means two. Is this right**
A: one for the top arm and one for the bottom is classed as a pair which in a sense they are. Similar to a pair of gloves left and right. 

This is the only answer I can think

**Q: Why do they keep breaking**
A: Mine also was breaking I must have gone through about 6 to 8, in the end I bought a new scroll saw. that did not use them,I did ask around and they said it was not the right material for these to be made of  but I do know people who get along fine with them, so I think 6 of one and half a dozen of the other sorry I have not got a more positive answer.
