So far, my combination-schizophrenic skin absolutely loves it and it works exceptionally well--not that I'm surprised. I've been using mostly products that are natural or nearly natural on my face for a while and having been seeing great results. This stuff, however, is fantastic and I can already feel the pangs of my addiction coming on. It also will last you a long while, making the price pretty cost effective, so don't let that fool you.I use it several times a week and also right after I do my peel every few weeks due to its soothing and cooling properties. I make sure to exfoliate my skin the night of or the night before, so that it can absorb into my skin as much as possible. I usually do this with my Clarisonic+acne brush a few times a week. It seems to not only improve my skin, but even banished some hormonal/adult acne, as well as shrink the two or three cystic-type acne spots I've been struggling to get rid of for ages. The acne bit isn't something I was expecting. In fact, I was worried it might make me breakout, but far from it. Score! That's probably due to flaxseed and sesame oil, which are both anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Other than that, it really has helped improve my skin and quite quickly. I also swear the mild redness/rosacea is improved, but that might be a placebo deal.The product comes with a spatula to prevent contamination. The 2-ounce jar may not look like much, but you really only need a small amount. The first time I used it, I wound up doing a glob about the size of a chickpea, which was really too much--if that gives you any idea. It has a gel-like or jelly-type consistency that reminds me of those gel Glade candles. I've since learned use an oil-free toner first (to remove soap/oil), using about have the original amount, as I run a trickle of warm water in the sink. As that's going, I then smear the masque on my fingers, then palms, making sure to rub it in so as to break the mask up. It sort of melts with your body temperature. After that, I run one hand under the warm water for a second or two, just to get it a little wet, then mix it with my hands and apply to my face. If you want mixing visuals, Eminence has masque mixing to tutorial on Youtube, along with how to mix multiple masques, which I came across after the fact. You could probably apply it straight, but I prefer to let the warm water open my pores a bit.Because it's straight up natural, you will get bits of tiny bits of seeds, pulp, and skin from whatever fruits, making it not all that attractive to go strutting around with, but I find that part fun ha. I wouldn't call it rough or to the point where it would exfoliate though. It smells like cranberry, which reminds me of Thanksgiving a bit. It will dry somewhat and give a mild tightening effect as it does, but not the uncomfortable sort of tightening. It's also chock full of ingredients that just seep into your skin (which absorbs 33% of what you toss on it), like papaya, pomegranate and other antioxidant-rich goodies to fight free radicals and the signs of aging.Definitely recommend this face food for regular and sensitive skin types. I've already order a few more items, despite the protests of my wallet. It looks like a fruit puree and smells really good (am sure it tastes equally great). You need to mix it with a bit of water and application is a bit messy.
