I was skeptical that these lanterns would be very durable or even look very good. Even when I saw them in the packaging I was not impressed. However, once you open them up and get them assembled, they really are quite pretty and surprisingly durable. We hung 7 of them in an oak tree for my friend's wedding ceremony, and they survived a breezy day among branches, being cut out of the tree and dropped 10 to 12 feet, and a few of them even rolled down a hill into a rocky area. They held up so well that we folded them up and saved them for another day! For the price, you really can't beat these lanterns. I cannot tell you how gorgeous these were hanging from the pole barn rafters, along with the mason jars with white tea lights. I had so many complements on the lanterns. My sister-in-law also used them for her indoor wedding, and it was also beautiful. I didn't use lights, although you could go for that option.
