Review: Fabulous gaming laptop - To get the negatives out of the way : feels a bit plastic, no USB C, all the ports on one side which is a sign of cost cutting. On the positive, the performance is superb, of the games I've played on it so far Doom whips along, Elite dangerous merrily rocks along at ultra settings. The plastic build may feel cheap but is obviously hard wearing, I'm relaxed at cost cutting here rather than anything related to gaming performance. I was conscious of reviews pointing to the Razen being the weak link but equally when plugged in (as this needs to be) doesn't throttle so badly. The Tuf Armour Crate software is well laid out and accessible, again if there are concerns over the CPU that can be prioritised here Finally at this price point I can find no fault with this computer at all. With an RTX2060 for under £1000 is aggressive pricing. This makes this computer superb value and I am well pleased with it

There is a obvious cpu bottleneck though, as cpu is maxed out while gpu averages around 70% usage. Another thing to watch out for is the overheating, as I've seen cpu temperatures get up to 95 degrees celsius, so additional cooling (like a cooling pad) is needed. Battery tends to last 2hrs doing non-gaming stuff, but can last 4-5hrs when brightness is 0% and battery saver mode is on. Overall, a great gaming laptop for £935 as long as you watch out for overheating.

**Q: While gaming the cpu reaches temps of 80-95. is this a defect and should i send it back?**
A: It depends on how long your operating the rig for. having a look at the indepth review on https://laptopmedia.com/review/asus-tuf-fx505-review-fresh-but-still-not-fully-polished/ it suggest that the intel version CPU at max load for around 10-15 would be at 92c. The AMD version to be around 60c. Try lowering the settings of your games to see if that would improve, if not and it still hitting them temperatures under minimal load (ie just boot up from a factory reset) then it may be defective

**Q: Does the r7-3750h/rtx 2060 come with rbg keyboard lighting? and which color version do we get between the websites "gold steel" or "stealth black"**
A: The one I bought came in stealth black and the keyboard is indeed RGB. It cycles between the colors slowly as default.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good laptop, if a little loud when stressed

Decent specs for the money and a good little machine. The 2060 gpu works will and gives solid frame rates, but when in turbo mode sounds like a jet plane taking off. Keyboard decent but the touch pad buttons are also touch sensitive, so whilst this enlarges the touch pad area it means the cursor can be inadvertently moved when trying to click if you are not precise. Battery life terrible if gaming which is to be expected with a gpu of this nature. Not so bad in Windows when it uses the onboard gpu instead. It’s a bit stingy on the port front too, three usb, network, hdmi and headphone jack and that’s your lot. All are located on the left hand side. The 500gb M.2 SSD isnt the fastest but can be upgraded, and there is a spare slot to install an additional 2.5” drive. Overall I’m pretty happy.
