## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are those tubes able to attach to Chef's Choice 7965001 Premium Metal Food Grinder ?**
A: Sorry can't help, work great on my kitchenaid

**Q: 2 and 3/8" dia. is too large to fit a KitchenAid meat grinder attachment. Largest dia. can be is 2 and 5/16".**
A: The tubes have a base diameter of 2 7/32". Just under 2 1/4" They fit ALL Kitchenaid mixer meat grinder attachments and most other size #5 small electric meat grinders.

**Q: Is there a support for the auger in the grinder or do you have to leave the grinder knife and plate in to use these tubes?**
A: You have to have one of the round grinder discs in the unit at all times. You should use the largest hole plate that you have when using the stuffing tubes. There is also one with only 2 large holes made for this purpose. Get that one. The meat flows much faster into the tubes and sausage casings. You do NOT need to leave the cutting blade in the assembly when using it with the stuffing tubes.

**Q: What is the diameter of the end that connect to the grinder?**
A: #5 = 2 3/8"

Good product, but there are easier ways

These are very well built stainless. There are hand-grinding marks on the inside, but nothing that's a problem for function or sterility. For stuffing sausage, assume the meat was already ground and seasoned. In this case, pushing the ground mixture back through the grinder is a lot of work. Remove the cutter blade and die or the die may plug up. Only need the stuffer tube held in place by the plastic grinder ring. It's a really slow process, but does work well. If you have a lot of meat to process, a special-purpose stuffer may be a better option. This is a very good product though.

I bought these to stuff sausages using the KitchenAid grinding attachment. There are three tubes in this package: one 6"x3/8", one 6"x3/4", and one 4"x1 1/4" diameter. The product description incorrectly lists three 6" tubes, but most of the photographs are accurate depictions. The stainless steel tubes are hardy, and I don't anticipate them ever breaking or bending. That said, these are clearly a handmade, small production product that could use a few improvements. The tubes hand-soldered to fluted flanges. The joints are good and relatively straight, and the flange edges are reasonably smooth. The internal joints are quite coarsely ground, though. The 3/8" suffers the most here, having a rough, pronounced ridge at the point of transfer from the flute to the tube. The tubes' internal surfaces are unpolished, with welding haze present the entire length. I can smell welding smut on my finger after rubbing it on the inside of the tube. The tube ends are also unpolished, with minor burring that is visible to the eye and obvious to the touch. Any sort of surface inconsistency at that point may tear the sausage casing. I will spend a few hours polishing these nozzles inside and out, and they will be fine.Pros: Solid construction. These will outlast the plastic mixer attachment they'll be mated to.Cons: Unrefined finish. Not quite ready for use out of the box. Why is the large tube so short?Buy these if you're not afraid of applying a little elbow grease. If you're making your own sausage, you probably aren't.

This fit into attachment perfectly and worked better than plastic tubes it originally came with

I used with my kitchenaids sausage stuffing attachment as I loaned mine out at they lost one of 2 tubes it came with. This fit into attachment perfectly and worked better than plastic tubes it originally came with. The casing slid along metal better.
