Can i change to the slanted base shoes?** A: Yes if you like. I used slanted shoes going up the staircase and regular shoes on the straight part. You will need slanted going up anyway. Hope this helps.. **Q: Can I order individually, I need 5 pieces?** A: Yes you can, please look for our individual item listings. **Q: How are the spindles attached to railing?** A: You have to make a 11/16" hole under the rail and another leveled hole on the cap or step (same diameter 11/16"). The hole on top must be 1-1/2" deep and the one on the bottom 1/2". Then you measure and cut the balusters. Last, you insert the baluster into the top hole first and then into the bottom and apply epoxy glue to keep in pace. Iron Baluster Shoes are reccomended to hide damage.
