Perhaps it was removed to reduce weight? I don't know but if it was used I would have liked to have known as I would of purchased somewhere else that I'd know it's new for piece of mind. But the battery works so that's my only gripe on this but don't let that effect the item itself. Charge cord is around 13ft, great for most setups, I could of used another 5ft myself.
