Along with the Backstage Handbook, this is a versatile and important book to have at the ready when producing a production, from the planning, to leadership, to the basics of construction and realization of sets, costumes, rehearsals, PR, and execution. You won't need anything but those two books!

Kelly lays out everything perfectly. He goes into detail about the production process for stage managers and the relationships they have with the rest of the production team. He uses real life experience to give examples, and some of them are quite humorous. The examples of paperwork are also very much excellent.
