Measured through infrared and direct measurement found that - film deformation began at 673 degrees and at 769 degrees, while the film appeared to burn, it appears that it is the adhesive that carbonized as the film itself exhibited no perforations after being heated to nearly 800 degrees. Kapton tape was intended for use on satellites and spacecraft so it is resistant to that type of deterioration. It blocks alpha particles but beta particles and gamma rays are barely attenuated.

**Q: Is this tape suitable to place under an NVMe drive to protect circuit boards?**
A: Not sure of what type of protection you require?  If it is isolation of casual physical contact from a warm/hot device, the  tape is quite durable and will resist light infrequent not abrasion at higher temps, quite well.

I use Kapton tape for protecting electronic components that I do not want to melt off of the circuit board when using my air desoldering station. This is just sticky enough to stay in place, seems to be the right film thickness (1 mil) and cuts like the mil-quality stuff. I have also used Kapton for a protective layer over loose radioactive materials when doing gamma ray spectroscopy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice width assortment

This tape assortment came in handy when wiring a BMS to my Lithium battery pack. The thinner tape was for the individual wires and the widest for the wire bundles. It was a bit hard to get the tape started off the roll as it is thin but was able to use it fine once started. The quality is very good and the tape is strong. It's a great value for the price.
