But at less than 1/3rd the price of its better known competitors, can it possibly be any good?Just like it's rivals, the Polarduck is made predominantly of high grade ABS plastic with an aluminium 360° rotating ball head firmly locked in place by a sprung push button. The non slip platform is adjustable on the screw thread to securely mount your gear.The legs have non slip rubber pads on the bottom and open out smoothly. Total height of the tripod is 18cm and it claims to support loads up to 2kg while weighing less than 200 grams. With the legs folded it fits comforably in your palm to make a perfect handgrip and its size makes it easy to slip into a pocket or bag.Also included in the package are an adjustable smartphone clamp that can be mounted horizontally or vertically and a GoPro mount - items that may cost you extra with rival products.Whether it's a smartphone, action camera, mini projector, LED studio light or even a compact DSLR camera that you need to support, the Polarduck Mini Tripod is the perfect choice. Still using the first one as a stand for a large Alexa smart speaker. Works really well for that so decided to get another for my phone. Still great quality, still a good price and still like the push button ball head system which is really easy to use. Now the bad bit ! It only just accommodates an iPhone 14 Pro Max 6.7 inch not the width, that’s fine, but the height, the phone is so long it hits the legs of the tripod ! The supplied phone holder just isn’t high enough and if you slide the phone so it is only just in the holder it isn’t quite as stable🫣 One alternative would be to stand it on a pile of books I suppose or maybe fit longer tripod legs? Not so great for video calls and the like, well not unless you like people looking up your nose, so this will almost certainly be the last time I purchase one.
