Review: Surprisingly decent for the price - Overall a decent way to mount a fence. But nothing remarkable. For the price it's hard to say it's not worth it. It's not going to be as sturdy as a fence built with more expensive hardware, but for suburbia, it's far more than enough. Upsides: Generally easy to put together and will work with the far majority of gate sizes you might need to make. Works with 2x4s perfectly. I expected it to be less snug around the "severe weather" 2x4s from the hardware store, but it was actually a rather good fit once I started cutting and assembling it. If you are a first time gate builder, and aren't comfortable with making a traditional gate with a compression diagonal truss, This is a good choice. I'm pretty confident in saying that this equipment would hold a rather heavy gate, and anything you are building that would be anywhere near your typical cookie cutter house would never need a gate heavier than this can hold. Downsides: The mounting of the gate frame (wood frame with brackets installed without pickets) to the fence itself. You will most likely need someone to help screw in the hinges while you hold the gate. Nothing major, just something to plan for. I'm able to make a more traditional gate near single handed, due to being able to mount the hinges hardware before cutting the gate to exact size The two brackets I received were in good condition, however I did notice one of the brackets was bent ever so slightly (reference attached pictures). It was easy to correct by forcing the frame pieces into place. One the 2x4s were screwed on, the brackets was forced back into square. Or at least enough to never notice. Just make sure to have a hammer on hand.

The gate was our biggest fear; making sure it was straight, and hanging it because they are heavy! We happened to be at our local HD store when we saw these gate kits. They wanted something like $70 for them and my husband was reluctant. I checked on desertcart as soon as we got home and I found this one for a fraction of the price. It had higher reviews than most others. We cut the wood only to find out that I didn't factor in the bracket sizes. Anyway, on the second try, we were able to get the measurements perfect. Hung the gate easily by propping it up with a 4x4 and extra fence pickets. I had read reviews about the screws being short, so I made sure we bought longer screws. I used 4" deck screws. We put the pickets on after we hung the gate to make it easier. It twisted a little bit and I think that may haven been from the bottom bracket not being installed perfectly straight. I screwed a small piece of a 2x4 to the bottom of the adjacent post to stop it and that did the trick! Wala...perfect and works great! I like that you can't see the hinges from the front either. Makes it streamline. Highly recommend.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the final product

Loved being able to add a gate we built with this high quality and sturdy hardware to the top of our deck stairs. It functions well and we were impressed with the thickness of the brackets. We needed a way to keep our dogs on the deck and this was the perfect solution. We did find the posts at the top of the stairs are not square though, so for a better fit we had to make some minor adjustments to the posts. Looks great too!
